In this module, we investigated how new technology is helping to not only save money on fuel costs but also assisting in creating more environmentally friendly aircraft. In this discussion activity, address the following in your primary, original posting:
- Discuss how technology has helped aircraft manufacturers meet national and international design standards.
After posting your primary, original response, any peers’ posts will become available for you to view. Please reply to at least two of your classmates in the Discussion by the last day of this module. To ensure that all students receive feedback, reply first to any students who have not yet received replies from other students.
Include at least one appropriate and correct in-text citation from the textbook and any other source you use to support your original, primary response. You are also required to provide a reference list reflecting the source(s) used in your response. Your in-text citations and reference list must be in accordance with the current APA publication manual.
Research Paper Requirements
Due for approval by your instructor in Module 5, select and submit a topic related to advanced technologies in the design and production of aircraft structure and systems. While this is a broad topic area, you may consider an aspect covered in one of the modules of this course, an example technology you are familiar with from your work or another technology example you have read about or explored in another course. Be creative and take some time to research for ideas. Computers, materials, and newer process tools and methods have all improved the design and subsequent production of modern aircraft. The sky truly is the limit for this paper, so go find a technology that will help us get there!
The research paper will be 4-6 pages in length. Note that 4-6 pages means 4-6 pages of double-spaced written material with 1-inch margins left, right, top and bottom. The title page, pictures, long quotations or multiple quotations, and reference page will not count toward the 4-6 pages. All term paper submissions will be prepared in APA format, including citations and a references page. The title page will consist of the following information: your name, the name of airline or organization, course title, course number, semester and year, instructor’s name, and date of submission. You will submit your paper (acceptable file types: .doc, .docx, or .rtf) in Module 9 through Turnitin’s anti-plagiarism service.
